Regardless of the positions he has held, he is foremost an advocate for children of color who are being denied the quality education that is a right of every citizen in the United States. Currently, he is a Fellow at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) where he develops professional development opportunities for educators.
As an entrepreneur, he is the Founding Director and Chairman of Champions for Peace Leadership and Mastermind Institute, a training and consulting company based in Durham, NC. The institute specializes in working with businesses and organizations that are committed to ensuring that children are being prepared to be successful citizens in the 21st century. They are currently gearing up to focus more attention on the literacy epidemic that is destroying the lives of children and young adults. As a professional trainer and coach, Dr. Ernest H. Johnson delivers numerous presentations and workshops at universities, schools, and organizations throughout the United States.
His 20 years as a Health Psychologist and Biomedical Research Scientist gives him a unique perspective in his work motivating individuals and organizations to address emotional and health problems from a holistic viewpoint. Dr. Johnson is the author of several books about health and a few that focus on the needs of males at-risk for academic problems: Brothers On the Mend-Understanding and Healing Anger; The Secrets for Motivating, Educating, and Lifting the Spirit of African American Males.
